I am mad about travelling. The only problem is, I've not had much experience in it. That's why my recent holiday was so fantastic.
Me and my boyfriend had a 'mini travel experience' and went to Pula in Croatia. We travelled up the Istrian coast to a beautiful town called Rovinj. As if Rovinj wasn't lovely enough, we then caught an early boat over the Adriatic sea to Venice. It's somewhere I've always wanted to go, and did not disappoint; it was breathtaking.
My most prominent memory is of taking a gondola ride up the Grand Canal, and through the peaceful back streets. We sipped sparkling wine in the heat of the sun and took in the spectacular views. It was like a whole other world, that you could only experience from the water. The canal was heaving with other boats, yet retained an unusual serenity, broken only by a lighthearted exchange in Italian between the gondoliers. Men singing loudly and playing the accordion would glide past, adding to magical atmosphere.
As we reclined into our seats and sipped our wine, we also drank in our amazing surroundings, and as the sun bounced off the radiant blue water, we could not believe we were there...
